Remembrance Day
In observation of November 11, I want to give thanks to all our veterans and our servicemen and women who have given so much for our countries. God bless them.

I'll second our Canadian friend's thanks.
I watched some of the parades in London on tv this morning but I was most touched by seeing something much later today. We have a very small cenotaph in our little town and when I was driving past, I saw a very elderly gent and a very young little girl. No one else around. She removed her poppy from her coat and laid it amongst the wreaths that were placed earlier. I hope she did it just because she was with her granddad and not because her dad wasn't there.

Have to second the above thoughts.
Let's also remember those who came back from battle physically and mentally scarred for life

Came past the War Memorial in Canberra this morning as people were arriving for the service. Large turn out in miserable weather, but I'm both pleased and sorry for the large number of young blokes and women wearing medals. I just hope they get the care that will be necessary now and later on.

Great graphic at the top of the forum today - well done.
