rod1849 - perhaps you really meant to ask, “Is that the Queen’s English or Queensland’s English ?” ?

smidsey - the National Curriculum might apply depending on your question, so maybe just ask away to any Australian English teacher.

Some would say that 'Queensland english' is an oxymoron.

Hope I didn’t offend - Not really having a go at you personally rod1949, but rather the whole state. It seems others agree with you anyway (eh Cliffey ?)

    I did find this though...

smidsey. The National Curriculum documents for P-10 exist and all states have agreed to their use. Years 11 and 12 docs don’t exist yet. It seems they can’t decide whether Lord or Lady Macbeth is the guilty party.

If no-one has given you real advice then maybe the National Curriculum is a starting point.

There is always this, http://www.etaq.org.au and probably a suitable forum dedicated to English teaching.

I was in Perth 2 weeks ago and was asked where I came from. When I told her Sydney, she said "But you don't have a Sydney accent"
needless to say I was lost for words for a bit.
