OK!!!

A good rum: Mount Gay, A west Indian brew.

Whiskey: Lophraig single malt from Islay. Beautifully smooth with a peat smoke
flavour that doesn't overpower the whole show.

I Love the Islay malts.

Favourite for many years has been - Lagavulin

A fantastic drop to sip on the porch while listening to some great Aussie Blues.

A very highly rated brew that I am yet to get my tongue around enelef!!!

Some very good single malts being brewed in Tasmania. Must try.

Agreed - I went to the Lark distillery there a few years back.
It was very nice, i was *ahem* forced to sit through a tasting while the SWMBO looked after the baby in the background.
A most pleasant tasting if i remember correctly.

I would love to go back and try the Nant distillery. But until then - I guess i will soldier on

My Father used to rave over a whiskey called 'Irish Mist'.

Unfortunately I have never tasted it ... but according to Dad this was the one to beat all others hands down. He had a collection of Glenfiddich.

I would not know where to buy it in Australia, probably only available in Ireland ...

Had friends over for dinner last night. Lloyd is a whisky drinker -with dry- and he bought
a bottle of home brew whisky that he buys from a mate of his. Superior to my bottle of
12yr old Ballantine's special reserve gold seal by a long way!!!

The Ballantine's was 12yrs. old when bottled but is now actually about 42 years old as it was
kept in its box in a cupboard unopened for 30 years!!!
