Default Why You Shouldn't Bath Cats

These were sent to me by my daughter who is a cat lover. I don't know where she got them from so cat lovers don't blame me.

I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

I think that if I tried to do that to my cat I would need a tetanus booster by the end of the bath.

I suspect there are a group of cat owners who bath cats simply so they take pics of wet cats - and get a kick out of seeing the cats eyes well up with fear and indignation.

I have a 20 yo cat and until a few months ago it had never had a bath. But the cat just had to sit down and roll onto a nicely notched out patch of tile glue didn't it!!

I had to bath a cat once because it got engine oil all over its back. That will be the last time I ever do that. The next time the cat can die for all I care!

I had scratches over my arms and torso for weeks.

Apart from John Laws, cat has to be the ugliest thing on the face of this planet. Yes it is a fact.

    Default Bathing cats

There is a simple way - drop the cat in the tiolet bowl, sit on the lid and flush a couple of times. Make sure there is a clear path to an open door before you lift the lid!

    No problems here .

May have to do with the fact that we treat our cats as family and have rules that apply equally to all of them. All of them seem to be quite intelligent, makes me wonder about the nature / nurture argument.

Earning a cats trust is an awesome thing. One of the things in my life I am very proud of having accomplished with *4* of them !

They know I won't hurt them and they trust me to do something that needs to be done ).

Not that they are particularly enthralled with the process, but they let me on the RARE occasions it needs to be done. I suspect the nice toweling down and serious brushing / preening might have something to do with it .
