Unfortunately after my experience a visit will achieve very little, he will lie, and very convincingly. Throw everything at it. I wrote a letter of demand - had no effect. As previously posted I visited his factory 10 times and yelled and screamed at him - little effect. He even phoned me one time and apologised for his lies and stuffing us about them immediately lied again, of which I caught him out. One of his techniques is to offer extras to soften you up and appear like he is doing you a favour - dont believe it, it doesn't exist. Just get what you paid for. I even said to him at one stage to give me a trailer minus kitchen and I would get my own. He rejected offer as the trailer was never going to get to me. As I stated previously I was foolish to pay in full and it was clear that he was only producing trailers for those who had paid deposits to maintain cash flow and stuff those who had paid in full. Fortunately at the 11th hour we got our trailer (minus the 12 volt system) therefore our family holiday can go ahead (leaving boxing day).
Southern Star Campers will not exist for much longer and already he is selling on ebay under another name. Believe it, this guy is the worst type of businessman and preys on people who are decent and trying to create experiences for themselves and families.
Good luck all, I am on leave from this Thursday through to mid Jan but will check in at some stage.

Well as of today my family and I have no home and are living in a motel room
what can I say .... We should be on the road heading west spending quality time together
catching up from the months and months I spent away
I got nothing.
I feel I have let them all down
I am left with Jack and have no hope left at all

That's bloody terrible. I don't know what to say to that. Sounds like maybe you need to find a motel out the front of his factory and camp out in his driveway. If the squeaky wheel gets the oil from this fool, then squeak like mad!

HEY THERE EVERYONE... DO ME A FAVOUR AND READ THE FOLLOWING:

Scott hasnt come good this morning with anything, wont answer the phone etc etc.Even Carl, the truck driver is no help.
We gave Scott till 12 oclock today so now its in the hands of the Williamstown Police 03 93939555. They have other complaints as well but unfortunately they cant do much. They have advised that we all get together on this and each lay a complaint with Consumer Affairs Victoria.Im currently doing this as we speak. Also advised to report it to your local police station.
We have reported ours as MISSING.
Please take the time and fill in the Consumer Complaint form asap, the more of us that do this something is bound to happen.

I filed complaint with Consumer affairs 2 weeks ago. Letter of demand sent. Somehow the authorities need to go in, but I now have my trailer and I understand that Scott owes money all over town. I am happy to proceed with police action but generally creditors will be paid first and that will not help those who dont have trailers. I think scott is aware of this and knows for most they want to get their product and get out of there. I Certainly experienced this on Saturday when I started to make a fuss and another customer was there to pick up his trailer. When he found out I had been waiting 7 weeks longer than him for my trailer he closed up and all of a sudden become scotts best mate. Strange! As I said I am on leave until mid Jan but happy to pursue legal action regarding this then. Have no time left before xmas thanks to the amount of time wasted with that idiot.

though we just got an email from pay pal saying that he has
proven the trailer has been sent
funny thing is I have not seen any of this proof

Contact Paypal disputing this and advise that unless you get a refund you will be pursuing legal action against them.

I'd dispute this too. If the guy is claiming to prove delivery when he hasn't, I'd imagine that it becomes fraud as much as anything else. I'd be pushing paypal pretty hard - I reckon it's your best bet.

Hi, I am in Vic and am having dealings with these people to. I am in a little bit of a different situation as I have offered to pay cash on delivery, so they seem to be keen for my business. I was concerned as they have been deregistered from ebay, I have a mobile contact for cameron but was wondering if you had any other contacts and their address.

my advice is do not buy off southern star campers either directly or via ebay.
