Don't take this the wrong way but I'm not very comfortable with the term Straya, it make us all sound like a bunch of yobbos. Let's be proud of our country and call it what it really is and that's Australia.

Hi George, you shouldn't feel uncomfortable about the use of "Straya". Sure, there's the yobbo element, more often associated with the chant "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi". We Australians are famous for running our words together i.e. "avvagoodweekend", "owyagoinmate". Straya is what non Australians hear when asked where we're from when traveling overseas. It's all part of our particular brand of English, called Strine.

Ennyow, have a great Australia Day.

Gees John, those photas are bloody beaudiful!!! I hope you are as proud of them as the subjects are so Stralian in content.

One of thing that makes proud to be Australian is the tradition of helping out some one (could even be a stranger) who is in need. We do it in our own communities as well as other countries. When you look at the crap that we see on the world news I am very glad and proud to be an Aussie
    Just do it!

    Kind regards Rod
