Oh yes. Pats, food, fireplace ignition - all pretty much on demand, as you might expect from a slave. Not to mention my other role as a doorman (think I'm developing tennis elbow from it).

Oh man, ain't that the truth! The two girls will sit at the door looking like they are waiting for the doorman. Open the door and they just look at me.

Nursie has another one too - open the door (she's outside) and she bolts away into the yard like she's just seen a phantom (a not uncommon vision for her).

Blackatter and Lizzie at least thank me for opening the door - a little "whirrr" every time the come through.

Cats do not have owners, they have servants.

Can anyone tell me why a cat that only weighs 4Kg and can sneak up on a moth without making a sound, sounds like a herd of elephants running down the hallway at 3 AM?

We have a small family of Possy's that camp in the shed. For quite sometime they would nest in the rolla-door but I felt sorry for them so covered the openings to keep them out then made "2 apartment blocks" to act as bedrooms on the gable above the rolla-doors. Just outside the apartment blocks I placed an RSJ in the apex and have an endless chain on a trolley that can be slid along. Well this is absolutely perfect to be used as a 40' runway for them. They poop and pee all along this RSJ and on days that are wet the smell that emanates is decidedly organic. I feel sorry for them because there doesn't seem much around for them to eat. Yes I have been known to give them a hand out. They seem to not always be around, then come back, then go away again. One night I went out to the shed to get some thing. I looked up and here was Possy looking down at me. We stared at each other for a little time then....bombs away.....dozens of little black rugby balls fell out of its bomb bay at the base of the tail. Truly extrordinary. They fell out as if they were world war 2 Flying Fortresses bombing Dresden.

Another thing about Possums (Brushies in our case) why do they wear hob nailed boots to run across your corrugated iron roof? I have recently put a carport in front of the shed which means the house roof is only 800mm from it. So now they can scoot along the shed roof, up onto the carport roof then 90° jump onto the house roof then back....great sport, if you are a Possum.

Now GJ, I don't mean to be rude, but are you quite sure that's not a scientific experiment between a French Bull Dog's body (albeit shaven) and a duly concerned looking cat? I mean check those front legs and shouidlers.....no wonder she can rumble....

Can I just clarify something? If you were on most occasions sleeping while the errant possy (oops, I had to change the spelling there before the moderators shut down the thread ) was up to it's tricks, which one of you was playing possum? I mean is this a clear example of role reversal?

SWMBO in a former life used to live in a house backing on to the bush. She used to feed the possums apricot jam sandwiches and bananas. It got to the stage where she was able to stroke them and tickle their stomachs: At that point they would roll on their backs and go into a trance.

I know just how they felt. It must have been so humiliating for them.
