Thumbs up Let's test the theory

Reading the why don't they fix something or other sections of this forum I think it is about time we put our actions where our mouth is.
This forum has produced a lot of clear thinking clever analysists of the problems of the country. It also has a national contribution.
How about we agree on a topic that affect Australians as a nation and we determine the politician we canvas and then all send emails in support of our campaign.
I don't want to lead the charge, but I would like to prove that society (you and me) can make changes.

    what do you reckon folks?

No offence intended Peter, but sn't that the root cause of all our ills??

As long as someone else does the hard yards to get our good ideas across the line we're all happy??

I reckon the idea has some merit, and it's your idea, sooo......

Problem - How to reduce the number of plastic bags going into landfill.

Idea - Reduce the number of plastic carry bags handed out by supermarkets by getting customers to use reusable shopping bags.

Measure - The number of bags used by Supermarkets is reduced therefore the number going into landfill is reduced.

Problem (after Gov pats itself on back) the number is not reduced as the sale of garbage bags has increased to the same extent as the reduction in usage of shopping bags.

Winners - Shops now save money on plastic bags. Make money on sale of garbage bags and green shopping bags. Public think they are doing good.

Discuss pro and con - "We have been conned"

No NO....How many times can you refill a Pump water bottle with milk for smoko until the little line of milk scum (which gets there from when you come home shagged and forget to clean out the smoko bag) breaks away and puts a blob of rotten milk in ya brew??.. And do you:

    A) Drink it anyway
    B) Give the brew to your oppo
    C) tip it out an make another??

These are the important questions....and who was the idiot who called it a funny bone...and why is it that when you save some piece of Shyte junk, it lies around for three years until you chuck it in the tip and a week later you need it???

    Cheers
