good times bad times
Ive been putting this one off for as long as possible but now have to raech for the cheque book...Income tax time!. Hes asking for over £10k this time even allowing for the clever moves by my accountant but the time has come to pay up and it breaks my heart.
Next month isnt too clever either as Ive got the VAT man to pay and thats a hefty one as well, as last quarter business was good.
On top of all that, Ive got the car booked in for a new clutch next week and thats £500!
I was going to treat myself to a new Makita LS1013 this month to replace the old RAS but thats now still on the wish list.. shame.
Im telling this cause no matter how hard I try not too, I always get upset about having to pay over money when I think of all the spongers and system abusers supported wholeheartedly by our welfare state. Really pisses me off at times!!
Gripe now off my chest so out to wash and polish the car.

Sounds familiar, which State in Australia is UK in :confused:
We ahve very hard working pollies who after screwing us for a bit more tax/tariff/levy or whatever form of horse theft it is congratulate themselves with a substantial increase in income. I decline to call it pay as means that it is generally worked for.Stupidity kills. Absolute stupidity kills absolutely.

I sympathise with anyone paying tax even after the best efforts of one's accountant. If you are in business surely you need maintenance done on plant and equipment? Maintenance of course = tools=scms.

In a previous life I have been creative often enough and my advice always was that if they still had to pay tax, after I was finished with their books, it meant that they had made way too much profit. This is much better than making a loss.

Years ago, the following story appeared in a motorcycling magazine.
It seems this journo owned a Harley Low Rider. He'd owned it for years, but had always wanted a Harley Sportster. Couldn't afford both. But being freelance, he had to put aside cash to pay his tax each year. This particular year, he saw a Sportster he'd love in the paper and the old brain cells started to fizzle within their alcoholic fog - if he used the tax money to buy the Sportster, he could compare the two bikes side by side, then sell the one he liked least to pay his tax.
He bought the Sportster.
And rode it.
And loved it ... but decided to keep the Low Rider.
So he put the Sportster up for sale. A nice young man came around, kicked the tires, left his driver's licence and his girl friend, and took the Sportster for a test ride.
The Sportster never came back. The girlfriend leapt into their car and disappeared at the first opportunity and the driver's licence was a fake.
The journo had to sell his Low Rider to pay the Tax bill that year.
No, the above story isn't relevant to anything, but it goes to show ... something.
