    Default Some times things suck!

    We have a neighbour John who is wheel chair bound suffering from MS. He has become well known in the neighbourhood walking his dog, a little while ago he stopped and every one wondered what had happened to him it turned out his dog had died so he no longer had the need to go out. Any way Every now and then I was able to catch up with John and talk he loves talking about cars. again he vanished off the scene and again we all were wondering where he was, I finally caught up with him this morning turns out he has been back in hospital and he has been now diagnosed with asbestosis.

    Some people don't seem to catch a break in life he caught the disease whilst lagging boilers in his early career, to say he is with James Hardy (who knew about the risks as far back ass 1939) would be an understatement.

    Poor bugger was just about go get another dog for company as he lives alone.

    Puts ones own problems in perspective.
    Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I´m not so sure about the universe.

    Makes you wonder sometimes doesn't it? but like you say it puts things into perspective for some of us and realise, we haven't got it too bad at all. Sad story.

    Yeh I think I will talk with some of the guys to set up a regular thing to talk with John, he loves talking about cars and what we are doing at work etc. and of course guy stuff.

    Having been through my dad's fight with MS (sadly lost him in 1988 due to it age 57) it is great to know your all looking out for him in your own way Phil .
    I am so proud of my dad his last wood work was toys for his grand kids a blackboard and dolls house.

    Now I find out our new young next door neighbours dad has been diagnosed we have talked its hard to tell him those i have seen with it and how his life sorry their lives will be. The young fellow is just starting his career in mine engineering.

    Men's Sheds are great for situations like this one. You can sit down, have a cuppa, have a rave etc etc or work with someone else and fix a mower or build a table.
    If they meet say twice a week there is always something to look forward to.
