Yeah, I liked the kid who was ready to chuck in the towell after half a day watching the sheep. And the bloke who drop kicked the rooster. Should be fun. From the shorts, the cook and the missus have a head to head next week.

What'd you think of the old shepherd who gave himself a haircut with the sheers. Did a suitably horrible job of it too. He really cares for his sheep. I didn't see the intro so I don't know if he's a real shepherd but he looks like he is. And it looks like they've got real border collies too - all are plug ugly, not the pretty ones you see in the show ring. Mind you, having said that, one of my cousins married a bloke who bred borders who were reknowned as workers AND won in the show ring, but those were freaks.

    Cheers

    Dr Who, what happened?
I remember watching this show in the 70's and 80's, it was good in the way it spread the story/plot over a series of episodes so it kept you watching and in suspence... now its 1/2hr wham bam thankyou mam, is it for the short American attention span or what?
I've only seen the new once, I hope its not all like it now?

I used to be an avid Dr Who fan as kid, never got in trouble for being late home when the goodies and Dr Who were on. I stopped watching it after Tom Baker left, the Dr's that followed were dreadfull. Christopher Eccleston seems to have put some arrogant charm back into the character, I'finding the new series quite entertaining. Nobody does cheap sci fi as well as the english.

Was never a real fan of the old Dr. Who, but the latest looks quite good. The outback house is pretty good, they do seem to have a few there who know what they're doing, and a few who don't - probably as it was in those days.

I can't comment on Dr Who - didn't even know there was a new series until this thread. But the Outback house, how'd you feel being one of the camera crew, watching someone crack up and not able to interfere.

Imagine it. Someone abusing a draw knife, and you a seasonned woodworker, screaming inside "Not like that you &^%$%$&*((

    Richard
sorry, but as soon as I saw that bloke messing with the draw knife I started yelling - I want a draw knife, I want a draw knife. My son was most embarrassed, but he just doesn't understand how long I've wanted one and how useful it would be in my boatbuilding but, when you have to spend money you don't have and you have other weapons that will sort of do the same job almost ... well ... and to then have those GITS playing with one ... well ... grrrrrrrrr (refer comment under avatar )

Am I coherent yet? It's hard to tell sometimes

They have finished the first series of Dr Who's on first Christopher Eccleston has already left and they are looking for a new Dr for next year
I dont think that they will ever get a Dr for as long as Tom Baker again

As for the outback house I missed it but listening today to ABC radio I was ammused to say the least to hear people complaining about the treatment of the animals on the show I don't know think some people have any idea how that lamb roast came to be on their table other than they bought it from the butcher

    Reality is a big equalizer

I think the concern is raised towards the bloke who "drop kicked" (in his own words) the rooster., as "this is the only way to teach a rooster". Then he went on to say how he thinks it may be broken but will wait a few days before killing and eating it. When it was discussed around the table one of the other guys said that the rooster must have fallen as its leg seems to be badly damaged ..... the rooster kicker didn't say a word.

The shepard seemed to take great pride in his flock, trying everything to keep one lamb alive after the boss said to kill it. Unfortunately it died the next day. Then there were the two still born lambs that the shepard needed to remove to save the sheep. I think that all would agree that this was as it would have been done "on the land" in the past and was important for the show.

As for the bloke who kicked the rooster ..... fool.
