The U-beaut BB has for me been a means to communicate across the WW spectrum & learning about all manner of approaches in WW from selfless folk willing to share their experiences and to aid in enlightening those of us in the dark.

The online "family" atmosphere, the lightheartedness that ensues, the readiness to assist in that cry for help are just a few of the well meaning issues that has been borne out with the camaraderie that abounds within.

All due credit first and foremost is due to Neil and the Moderators who give up so much of their time in keeping the rest of us inline,on line and informed that without a doubt gives this BB the richly deserved Kudos and is second to none in WWorking BB's.

    Cheers
    Johnno

Default Some things we just dont want to know about!

The car park stuff....all yours.. keep that under your hat mates...
The hugs....nice...but arrange a few for me without the group....
As for us being all those reprobates etc..... YOUR RIGHT!

For me though the forum has been invaluable for quite a different reason....
    Unseen, unfathomable, unbelievable FRIENDSHIPS.....
Your words of kindness, support & reassurance keep coming & keep me sane.

I lost my dearest Hubby to cancer, we lived woodwork...it was our passion & our hobby...
NO one else truly understands how much you miss something...until they lose it too!
The fact that everyone here loves their woodwork & have , been such a support to me....the witt & humor, the messages, its wonderful. Keeps me interested in coming back each night to just chat/message to someone....
My life is quiet but happy because I know I am not alone...there are other who understand.....THANKS THANKS THANKS
Don't think you're playing it safe by walking in the middle of the road.....that's the surest way to get hit by traffic coming from both ways!
I'm passionate about woodwork.......making Sawdust again & loving it!

So, to reiterate WoodBorer's question -

What have you done to "pay it forward" for someone you met or got in contact with through the forum??

I would have to say that I have helped by machining timber and cutting stuff for Thumbsucker and cutting and welding a support stand for Waldo

I have learnt stuff about woodworking (and metalwork) that I would've never learnt from a book. And I have also made some friends through these forums that I will now have for life.

It is hard to explain to people what this place means to all of us but once they join and have a look around they always understand!
Have a nice day - Cheers

Come on down and I'm sure we can arrange some.

To me this is a place to enjoy, a place to cry, a place to be happy, a place to be sad, a place to shake your head in amazement at the cleverness of others but also a place to be mortified by others stupidity.

But most of all a place to learn and share your own knowledge, which (unlike many others who only take ) I hope I have done.

    Peter.
