    Thanks Gumby!!!!!

In another life I used to do quite a bit of off shore racing in 1 toners (40'6") & pocket maxi's (up to 65')
The Volvo race is a tough one
    Cheers

    G'day Major,

Ever do one of the Vasco da Gama's (Durban to P.E.), or the Cape to Rio?

I took part, in various roles ranging from navigator to "gofer" in six Vasco's - once in a 65' ketch rigged luxury cruiser. We weren't dead last - but satisfyingly close to it - but we did have a ball

I also did one Beachcomber - Madagascar to Durban. Three weeks into to breeze... Whoever said the I.O was calm was an idiot

Agree that the Volvo race would be a real B*breaker. Much too old for that stuff now (or, perhaps more realistically, much too unfit )

    Cheers!

I've sailed for 30 years, off the beach dinghys.

But if I get on a trailer sailer or keel boat and have to put my head down to untie a rope, I turn green.

Wait a sec, I AM green to begin with.......but you know what I mean.

The Volvo race = seasick for 3 weeks
