Warburton. DJ's house???//
Dj? You need a hand with anyhting?
What's your plan?
Any others we talk to here, up in the thick of it?
Gawwwd, I hope the fire doesn't get that close to you.
.Hope your going well.Don't pass them by! Be daring and caring!
Dampen their misery....sit with them and talk a little.
Buy them something to eat and a tram fare to a local mission.
I'm so lucky that I've somewhere to live and have family support.

Dj's been at his folks place for the last few week. He was over this arvo for a cleansing ale. The young lad has turfed his Mum's car out of the garage and shifted his machinery and gear in there.

I heard DY had scarpered the other day (good move DJ). Tonight I heard there was a fire in Upwey which is a few kilometers from TL.
I hope it passes you both by

Been watching it pretty closely, Dj commented that as he was coming over fire units were rushing towards Upwey.
Smoke was thick as with ash for a while, then the wind changed direction and it was clear and the smoke did a u-turn and blew to the south. As the crow flies, not more than 5km away or so from here.
Can't taste the smoke anymore, waiting for SBS News to see what's going on now.

I'm still around, but with limited net access due to the fact that I'm not at home, as Waldo has indicated. Have shifted a fair amount of my gear to my parent's place a week or so a go as I could see that it wasn't looking good for my area, particularly with the stand of trees behind my place that the shire won't clean up or even let me touch unless I want a fine.
Can say that after the danger has passed and when things have cooled down and as long as my place is still there, I'll be doing some extensive clearing regardless of what the shire or greenies says.Cheers

Can't promise on Skew depends if he's around, if he's on later tonight to get my PM etc. . Dj - if he wants to he's more than welcome. What time would you be around?

We are both thinking of you all.
Whatever your decision - Don't Panic and make sure they rational realistic decisions.
If you haven't got the experience, the physical and emotional capabilities or sufficient equipment then evacuating early should be seriously considered.
A steady head will get you through and remember one day soon all this will pass and you will be reminiscing over an ale or two.- Wood Borer

DJ the VL300 do you want me to mind it for you
BTW the Daylesford fire is about 8KM's from the farm heading in the other direction.
AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH yes i think persons with common sense would do the fuel reduction burns in the colder weather -- much better idea me thinks.regards
