    Default Wooden Tredlies

Just found these on a cycling forum. They're real world bikes too, not showcase pieces.

Very Nice! Not real sure about the strength but you sure would look cool riding that into work.

Here are a few more with a different slant, but I have no idea who to credit for them, also check out the entire thread here:

Bamboo and carbon fibre MTB for any one who missed it last time I posted it,with link to site explaining design and fabrication.BME - Brano Meres
If I ever get around to it,this is something like I would build. If I can find a cheap enough bike to cut up.I thought of an alloy or steel frame...cut the tubing out leaving the bottom bracket, headstock and the part where the seatpost joins the frame and part of the seat and chainstays.Wonder how epoxy would go for joining it.
Somewhere in my Bookmarks I have an article on the structural properties of bamboo...I'll see if I can find it.Amazing stuff...used in Asia still to build scaffolding for multi-storey buildings.
There's a boat inside me trying to get out.
    Was it something I ate?

There are some beautiful things in there, would make riding a bike a real pleasure! That bamboo one is amazing, understated but still beautiful.

BM, I found the site with those laminated ply constructions...took a bit of searching: http://www.xylonbikes.com/models.html

    Cheers,
    Andy

PS. Not a wooden treddlie really (although a ply box to come) but I actually rode my trike construction today, it works...some tuning to do

Change is inevitable, growth is optional.
