    Default Blue Marlin

I am afraid that we are spoilt here in Nth Qld . Our local Fish and Chip shop sells magnificent filleted fish delivered straight from the Gulf. Visitors from the south are amazed at the quality and the size of the fillets.

If ever passing through Townsville, check out the Blue Marlin fish and chip shop at Kirwan.

    regards,
    Jill

Worst food on board the Spirit III in March 2004 on way to Tassie almost every one in the dinning room complained Morocan Lamb shanks which were tops but verything else was Cuss Cuss and cold

Ever hear of Surf and turf. Well in a small villiage in northern Vic they do Chefs choice, Steak wrapped in hot salami. First bite is interesting after that you are questioning the chefs sanity.

I remember that pub from about 30 years ago. I had a magnificent mixed grill served with baked potatoes, mashed potatoes, chips, baked pumpkin and mashed pumpkin (and peas).

yeah, I remember the Paragon, they used to serve a stack of plain white bread on a plate as a side dish, which, if you didn't eat, would be whisked away to the next table that ordered.
we used to write notes and leave them between the slices for the next customers..

If any of you have read Bill Bryson's "downunder" he reckons the worlds worst chinese restaurant is in Macksville in northern NSW.
    he's right!

what if the hokey pokey is really what it's all about?

Best ever excuse for no service...
Crescent Head club (Can't remember which) having taken our booking, sat us at a table AND taken our orders, the waitress came back after a rather long pause (30 mins or so) to announce to the assembled "diners"
"Ther kitchen's closed.......there's been a death in the family".
It's a long way back to Kempsey with your belly thinking your throat's cut.

PS: There was no mention of a sudden bereavement in the local rag, so we conclude that the "death" had eithe taken place some time ago, or was some way in the future!!

Maybe it was the chef (tasting the food). BTW I used to live in Kempsey and frequented the Cresent Head Country Club on many occasions, just didn't eat there, only filled up on the good stuff...beer.
