Come on Lig; I was trying to be funny and super-sarcastic! Hence the tongue-out and smile.

    Thanks. TBO spotted some 50 x 50 x 3 at Bunny's too.

Give your local Capral Aluminium outlet a ring. They will have a far greater range of sections than Bunnings and usually, they will be cheaper.

Capral are very good for range and $/m and I have bought a lot of stuff from them, but you often have to buy a 6m length so unless you have a use for the other 5 m ...........

No worries. As it turns out, I think I may have sorted out the issue. I'll post pictures when I've finished the fence.

I got two lengths (1200 and 800) of 100x100x5 aluminium angle from the local coolroom manufacturer. $85...

    Perfect for the router table.
Ours is not to reason why.....only to point and giggle.

I settled on the 50 x 50 x 3 angle as it was the easiest for TBO to pick up.

I made up the fence and attached it to two UHMW sliders which slide nicely in the T-tracks. Two bolts keep it in line while two cam clamps tighten it in position.

The track along the top of the fence carries two flip-down stops and can also be used to carry a toggle clamp.

    Looks really good WW.

Just an observation, when I made mine I had to relieve the back of the angle [to fit around the riser post] to give me extra room for a wider workpiece as well as relieving the centre of the vertical rise so that the chuck would not interfere with the fence when drilling something narrow or thin.

I can't seem to just add a pix from a previous thread of what i mean but have added a link to that thread which will show what I mean - esp post 2

    Hope it helps,

That's a nice fence there Bob and thanks for the tips. I beleive there will be a day when I need to set the fence back further than I can at present. When that day comes, I will releive the aluminium angle to fit around the column.

I've already drilled a small piece of aluminium and I simply set a piece of scrap MDF in front of the fence as a sub fence to gain clearance for the chuck. I don't really want to breach the track along the top of my fence.

    Not a problem.

I would be reluctant to cut into the top track as well if I was using the same as yours.

    Bob
