    It is coming along nicely.

Have you already hardened and tempered the blade or how are you going to do that with the wood piece at the end?

The plane looks great by the way.
Some of that “Dirty” has possibly been there before Biblical times, far be it from me,to assert my self imposed authority over it.

    CKlett,
No the blade is unfortunately still soft,
I’m sending the blade off to another forum member hear, to Hardened and tempered, has I don’t have the facilities to do that had the moment,
That also means I’m not able to test the plane yet!

    Cheers Matt.

Hi Matt. What happened to the fancy bit? Was I the only forumite who liked it? This does assume that the aforementioned Sally is not on it herself and the assumption probably reflects my male club mentality (or the fact that very few males or females would be interested in the esoteric nature of the discussions held herein).......

And the plane is coming along very nicely. Bummer about having to wait to test it

I’m sorry, but just every time I looked at imposing piece of brass, that was meant to resemble a Cupid’s Bow , I saw a Space invader from those old space invader games.
I think it looks a little bit more reserved now,
But I’m sure it won’t be my last attempt at a Cupid’s bow.
But Sally liked the Cupid Bow too, I actually don’t think she’s too concerned about the state of her father’s shed !!

    Cheers Matt.

So the table cloth Mitre Plane is 90 percent done.

Today, I spent changing the blade detail but ,that’s already been discussed[emoji3064].

The front and back buns were riveted in using rivets supplied from the left over nail department.
The front bun had one coat of wipe on mat Polie
The back I will do later.

I also forgot to mention, that yesterday I spent making and installing the floating bridge.
That was also riveted in place.

We also did a little spit and polish on the main body of the plain today, starting with 180 wet and dry finished with 320 using some WD40 as a lubricant, fairy straight forward stuff.

Doug 3030 who is a member here ,has kindly offered to heat treat the plane iron for me , as I don’t have any facilities here to do that,
So , I will post that over to him in the next few days,
So , i am unable to give this little pony a test ride, and actually see if it even works , or it’s to spend it’s day sitting on the shelf being the plane that was almost.

So , in the mean while , why I wait for that, I just might crack on with another Plane Build, yep you heard it right, more antics and back grammar coming soon.

    Cheers Matt,
Thanks for all the kind remarks..

Thats come up very nicely Matt, I expect you are rightly pleased with it. Doesn't seem to have taken you that long either. Well done.

    Matt

You have done well and I see you are now on the slippery slope. I am envious as I would love to have a go at this, but just do not have the time.

    What is the next plane?

    Hi Tony,
I am pleased with it , I wanted to try metal dovetails and solid rivets.
I got too all them done, I always saw it has a leaning curve.
So I ticket all those boxes.

    Cheers Matt.

Well that’s two of us looking forward to hearing how it works, lol.

I can’t comment on Dougs monopoly on heat treading, but to be fair I got a cracking deal on the cost so no complaints.

    Cheers Matt.
