    Default Auto start switch

Just wondering if anyone has a circuit diagram for a switch box that will start a dust collector automatically when you start a power tool. I have seen a commercially made product at Sears (http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00924031000P) but it is not suitable for Aust.
    Thanks

    Hi Ross Lambert,
What you want to do isnt that hard, is the Power Tool a plug-in tool like a hand power saw or a machine with like a table saw with a on/off switch. It will make a differance to the circuit and componits needed.
In Chipman's post there was mention of keeping the blower on after turnoff to get all the dust extracted, this can be done by using a Off-Delay Timmer in the circuit.
If you post some more details and some pictures I can give you some suggestions and some circuit layouts.
Keep in mind that strictly speaking an Electrician should be doing the wiring but I suppose like many you want to do it yourself to save some money.

    Regards,
    Keith.

Last year I was going thru some old fine woodworking from taunton publications. I believe they had directions and a list of the elecronic pieces for making one. I am sorry I do not have the year or month for you but it was more than ten years old. I bleive they have a archive of all there articales where it could be found
