well done, I like them... are they turned or done by hand with spokeshaves?

They are done by hand. Following Bob Smalser's example I glued the blades before the final shaping of the handles. He uses a spokeshave for rough shaping. I tried that too. I do not understand how he manages. I mean, with a tapered straight grained timber, you must start shaving from the wide part to the narrow. Otherwise you get tearout. However, with the blade fixed at the narrow end you risk hearing that nice metallic sound which means you've got a new ding in the spokeshave's blade (DAMHIKT). He is, obviously, much more proficient than me. I just used a rasp.
