    I will do it at the back fence when I finally build one but my panel saw has the fence at the front, as they all do. It takes a while to get used to but its quite natural now.

    This would not happpen with my croscut sled, because it is made with a stop to stop the sled from sliding too far forward, and with a block on the operator's side of the fence which houses the blade; so nothing could be thrown backwards.
