Okay Niki ol son another grand design!! Well done

NOW!!... pretty good for small stuff but mate how am I gonna hold that 12ft length that I need to cut a bunch of strips from eh? mmm or the 20ft peices?... main problem Ive had when doing long strips is kickback as the long light peice lifts down the outfeed end... mmm but now youve got me thinking maybe another connection to the outfeed fence? this pulling the strip along its length to the whole fence?

I tell you what though I do like that side feeder roller setup You do know Ive nicked your fence system dont you? you know with the wheel hanging down at the end of the cut?... yep only at the time I didnt have a wheel I could nick from anybuggar around here (and although I did give some serious thought to them the ones from the 21in bikes out the back were just a tad LARGE ) I ended up using a strip of steel with a handle from a spotlight attached to the end... thus it actually had a bit of flex to go up and over the timber as it exited the blade but also the handle facing down pushed down on the timber... works okay for most things but a wheel would be best I reckon... and now Ive actually "found" some Im going to have to make at least that side one cause that looks a bloody ripper!

    ahem... good one mate cheers!

oh and your more Aussie than you think well I reckon anyways!

    Thank you mate

Well, 12~20 feet is already a "factory size"...I can cut only up to 6' (1.8 M)...

For such a length, I think that you shall need a sled, long like your fence , that is locking (or stopping) on the fence...

I made some very Lo-tech drawing.

Stand behind your table saw as usual...now, get down till your eyes are level with the table height...the drawing shows what you see from this position...

Screw a block to the sled end (the Green one)

Screw the "Pusher" with one screw that will act also as a hinge.

When you push the wood, as long as the "wood" is beyond the sled, the "Pusher" is lifted by the "wood" and does not let the sled to advance because the "Pusher" is stopped by the fence (as you see on the drawing).

Once the wood passes the sled end line, you can push down the "Pusher" (like, turn it to the left or counterclockwise), the "Pusher" will be "released" by the fence and the other side will go down, behind the wood...and from here, you continue to push the sled with the wood.

In any case, it's good to have a feather board or better, the feather rollers like I use and...long, long Infeed and Outfeed tables.

Now, what is the story about the rollers, I found them in every Home-center in Japan, Israel and even Poland...we screw them under cabinets, tool-boxes etc...

    Regards

Your home made jigs are as good as any other on this forum (in my opinion) and that makes them as good as any in the world.
Another one for me to borrow.
    I'll second that

If one is interested and atuned to jig making like like many members on this site we all end up feeding off each other. That's what makes this such a great site.

    Cheers for the thoughts Niki

Yeah Im going to have to make a couple of seriously long infeed and outfeed tables and both are going to have to have fences attached... Im thinking of sliding with a screw bar attachment to the main fence so its in alignment...

There are ways of doing this Ive even got a jig a bloke in the states uses that attaches to the underside of his circular saw and he just walks the length of the timber... seem to recall he would lay the first board and cut some strips then add another board to the far side this would give the saw a rest as he wandered down to do the rest of the cuts... me? I havent quite figured out how your meant to balance all that and Id rather do it on the table saw

    Cheers
