    Default Doweling on router table

    G'day mates

I would like to share with you my way of doweling on the router table.

I'm using straight bit but I think that "up-cut spiral bit" will be better.

The setting of the fence distance and stop takes very short time and the drilling itself takes around 3~4 minutes (16 holes)

The numbers on the spacers are Centimeters (I measure with the numbers that I see on the ruler but I post in mm).
Long time ago, I prepared spacers from 10mm to 80mm in increments of 5mm so I just have to choose the nearest spacer.

I use the same method to dowel carcasses and I love it when I "dry run" and everything "clicks" like a Lego.

I'm using the same set-up also for mortising but setting the stops for long boards takes a little bit longer time (by 4~5 minutes).

I think that with a little bit of imagination and modification, the "pedal" can be installed and used also on the "normal" cabinet router table.

Sorry for including too many pics (30), I just wanted it to be as clear as possible

    Regards
    niki

I'm building only small and simple thinks but, after looking at Bob's link, it looks like nothing is impossible...

    Hello Niki,

A fantastic post - just like all your others! Taking all these photos must take a bit of time, I'm wondering if you actually have much time left over to make things!

One question.... do you have any photos or info on how this pedal works? The only similiar post I could find from you was your router lifter, which I have started to make.

Dowel joints have never come out 'good enough' for me, and I am keen to give this a go.

    Thanks again,
    Nathan.

    Thank you Nathan

Yes, it takes some time to take the pics, select from all of them what to post, put them in the correct order and add the text.
But, one of the benefits of hobby is that, I don't have "delivery date" so lets say that taking the pics is part of the hobby.

The only place that you can see the pedal is on the "Router table" post

If you need more information or pictures, just let me know.

    Regards
