Ferrules
Like a number of forumites I've been thinking about chisel handles and made a few up today, using copper and stainless tube for ferrules. Given our 3.5mm blades we will always have end grain using tube. I notice in the current Carba-tec cattledog they have brass " Candle Cups" ( page 319). Maybe, with a 3.5mm slot cut in the end, ferrules. Just wondering how heavy guage they are, has anyone ever used them ? It says 100g per 10 but that could be packaging, etc.

Look at page 295. Proper ferrules are 20g. Even if it is net weight, the cups are 10g (and cost one third). What does that tell you?
