Default Finger Jointing Jig for Triton Router Table.

    Hi all,

I was going to buy the Triton finger router attachment, but instead decided to build my own It was great fun designing and building this

If anyone has any questions, or wants information I am happy to help. If needed I can supply a PDF of the details (I have to modify my drawings as I thought the router slot was central, it is not (I will draw in the over hang of the fence as it makes it easier to clamp.

The first Photo is the top of the Jig with both the 6mm and 12mm Peg's Fitted. You only use one at a time.

The second photo shows how the wood sits (I have cut 2 pieces at once, as this is using the 6mm cutter, the two pieces are offset 6mm, rest against the stop for the first pass, then place the groove of the previous cut over the peg and do next pass, for 6mm each pass shifts to the left, 12mm to the right)

The last photo shows the runners that sit ether side of the Triton router table top.

    The Base is 600mm x 484mm x 9mm MDF, the Two runners are 30mm X 19mm (450mm long) Jarrah, The Fence is 105mm x 30mm x 600mm Jarrah. The Pegs are Tasmanian Oak DAR, 40mm long (the 6mm x 6mm is cut down from 12mm x 12mm). All screws are countersunk, 10G x 40mm.

I hope this helps someone. If anyone has any ideas of other jigs they think are useful I can try and design them and cad them up (making a prototype and modifying till it works I love the design modify cycle.

    Hi,
    Nice work.
Which Triton router table is it made for?
I have the Triton one which is only for the RTA300.
    Regards
    Hugh

Enough is enough, more than enough is too much.

    Hi,

I have the newer RTA300, It works on that (the materials only cost me au$20), BUT it should work on ANY table with minor Adjustments, eg if the table is a different width then the side rails need to move in or out, If the router is in a different location, you just need to move the Slot and the Fence etc.

By the way, This Jig slides along the table when standing at the switch end of the stand (the Longer sides are travelled along

    Hope this helps

Now that my tool supplier is selling Triton I can now get the bits I always wanted (the ex who did not like me spending money is no longer around, so I am more like a kid in a lolly shop

As I design these little add ons I will post them.

With the Jig being simple, that is my aim, simple is best, make it complicated and you have more things that can go wrong, that can make minor errors LARGE...

My other main motto is KISS (Keep It Simple Sucker)

I know what you mean about not having space, I live in a one bedroom unit, there are 4 of us in the space of one average house lot (1/4 acre) I have a small storage room that has my 4.8m instant scaffold, a 2.25m x 2.25m stratco shed that holds my triton stuff and cable (being self employed my home is my office) My lounge / dining room is my electronics lab / art studio )
