Golden Mean calipers
Hello,
I have been interested in this concept for a while, so tracked down some proportions on the Net, and got stuck into a piece of 3mm brass. Spent about 5 evenings hacksawing and filing away in the shed, with quiet music and the odd wine Fitted with aircraft sheetmetal rivets, and buffed on a Scotchbrite mop.
The final proportions at the tips equal 1:1.618, and seems accurate enough. My intention is to check existing designs to see if they conform, and also apply the Golden Mean to my designs.
Cheers,Andy Mac
