    Default Hand Tool Making Competition

    Hi,
Just to remind hand tool makers about the next Australian Wood Review Tool Making Awards. This will be the third one of these we have run and we encourage all people to make and enter something. Why?
Its good to push yourself and put yourself out there sometimes. Tools can be one-offs or batch made but not something already in production for sale. Maybe this can be a kick-start for someone as a new career?
Please go to woodreview.com.au/competitions/handtoolcomp for entry form and more details.
    Hope this is of interest,.
    AWR

    Hi AWR,

Just curious, I make my own saws, but I notice that saws are not eligible?

    Regards

If it's made by you and not available commercially, and is hand driven then it's probably allowed. My guess is that since not many people make saws AWR didn't bother saying they're allowed

    Ray,
I see that they haven't excluded saws, only failed to include them in the blurb...planes and chisels and marking tools...much more sexy than boring saws.
Make something that will pull the eyes out of their heads!!
    Regards,
    Peter

    Hi Ray,

Saws are definitely eligible, can't think why we didn't list them. There's no restriction as far as style goes either, can be traditional or original and that applies to all entries.
    Hope you decide to enter,

    Linda

    Hi Linda,

Thanks for clarifying that, it sounds like it should be good fun. There a some very talented people lurking around here that should make for some interesting entries.

Now.... how do I stop Peter from entering....so the rest of us mere mortals can have a chance..

    Regards
    Ray
