Hold-down roller for TS
G'day mates
It holds the board down to the table and at the same time keeps it pressed to the fence.
I'm changing the spacers thickness so the roller will be some 4~5mm below the board.
I use it together with the Feeder rollers and that gives me very safe feeling.
Regards
niki

If you put the casters on so the fronts are angled towards the fence it should eliminate the need for the featherboard.
(Thats the way power feeders work)

Thank you for your kind replies

I'm counting...
Bob Thomas (Echnidna)
You are correct but at that time I used only one (front) roller and the board was held only on the outfeed side so, I used the feeder rollers just for my good feeling and easy feeding (the boards are 1500mm)
With the new, two roller hold down, I thing that I shall not need it but I didn't try it yet (winter hibernation for me).
BTW, this Power Feeder is 1/4 "Horse" Power (me)
Thanks

Another excellent one Niki - I don't know where you keep finding these gems but keep them coming.
With thanks, I'll take this idea, will pass it on to a few of my mates. Will tell them about this bloke in Poland who has a very active mind.
Regards, and thanks,
Bob

Brilliant posts niki {this one and the feather board one} one question if I may
whats the maximum width between the fence - wheels - blade?
and another? have you any brilliant ideas for quickly cutting about 70 or so 1/4in strips from 1in x 8in boards? Im in need of something a tad more safer than my present ideas and mate? your the jig master!!Believe me there IS life beyond marriage!!! I will, with pleasure, but I insist in telling them where it came from.
Can't send a greenie at the moment but I'll catch up with you later.
Regards,
Bob
Ps Only one question, what is the angle of the wheel [if known] from straight to keep it pushed against the fence? or was it just trial and error?
Same question for the double wheel in the other thread.

Thanks Bob
I measured it now and it's 2~3°. The more angle, the more pressure toward the fence or the table and the more roller skid on the board.
If the angle is too big, you can get some marks (in my case black marks) on the board because of this skidding.

Thank you so much Wild Dingo
I added 3 pics. As you can see the distance from the fence is 50mm.
About you second question...tell me, are you reading my mind or you have some Spyware implanted in my computer ???
That will be my next post "Cutting strips on TS"...It's in the "kitchen" now - cooking, you will have it by your tomorrow morning.
Best regards
niki

Nice work there niki.
You don't have a distant cousin in Melbourne do you ?
Those jigs remind me of somebody we all know well in these forums.
You could get together and compare jigs, go skip diving and have a wonderful time.
