Default What I did on the holidays (Workbench Helper)

I have a project book in the shed, full of all the jigs and fixtures I would like to make. It got the better of me over Christmas, and I said pull your finger out and just do one.
I opened the book to the first page, and saw the Workbench Helper. This brought back memories from my grandfathers shop, I was fascinated by the one he had, but never asked what it was for.
The wood is all left over packing material, that I hand planed. It is all hand cut, expect for the drilling, and a bit of routing to round over the edges. Finished in linseed oil.

I learnt a lot doing this:
    • If you chisel/score the cut line, a pull saw will follow quite reliably
    • I need to practice by mortise & tenons a lot more
    • I need to "borrow" dads hand router (old woman's tooth), as that is how I was taught at high school to get a good fit or tenons, rebates etc.

Also known as a deadman when made as part of a bench, I think?

Looks good though, a good bit of practice for the hand tool skills.
