I've returned to this thread many times to marvel at the really great work you are doing on this thing
It's been a couple years now since you built it and I would really like to hear how it's performed. Has the MDF stood up? The shafts, were they thick enough?
I've contemplated making one from concrete because I don't weld. Hell, I even considered a concrete drum molded in large PVC tubes. Dunno yet what I'd do to make the concrete more flexible for drums yet, but I'm sure there's a way. Dunno yet what I'd do to true the concrete drum up - for sure it'd need truing.
So Please do tell, how's it working out?
