    Default Any ideas what this is?

    Cleaning out my late father-in-law's shed I came across this. It has been handmade from an old file. The end has been bent up and the underside is scalloped. My FIL was a fitter.
    It looks like it could come in handy, if only I knew what for

    It is a bearing scraper used for Babbitt bearings.

    Thanks China, after googling Babbitt bearings it appears that it might not come in handy. Certainly not for its intended purpose at least!
