Jig for cutting teeth
Mate of mines swmbo wants to duplicate large circular saw blades made of MDF so she can paint.Heres the tricky bit. With Xmas just around the corner, cutting 50 odd tooth blades exactly the same gullet size etc. does any one have an idea for a jig, combining a router? to short cut the operation.Regards........AL

I reakon that might work Mike. Maybe.....start with the oversize circle. Stick an old blade on with double sided tape. Then with a large flush cutting bit with a bearing, adjust hieght so bearings on template blade and cut around it. Then maybe switch to a small flush cutting bit, small enough to get into an out of each of those gullets to finish off. (shrug) What you reakon ?

Al
Use some of the new fangled math thay are learning in school these day to lay out a full scale drawing on your MDF. Use a drill to drill a hole where the gullets should be. them all you have to do is make two cuts in to the drilled hole at 2 different angles to make it look like a tooth. Do a test of small peice firstJunkBoy999

Why not just cut a triangular shape tooth like a handsaw has.
This shape was common on circular blades before tungsten tips got cheap.
You'd cut them much faster by hand (or with a jigsaw or bandsaw) than you could with a router and you wouldn't even need a jig.

How big do they want the whole blade I ment?
Just trace around one of your blades and hand cut them with a coping saw... if ya get stuck come around and use me bandsaw... cut 10 at once!....................................................................
