Marking knife and awl set
I made this marking knife and awl (the second I've made of late) out of a old spade bit. The awl received the shaft, which was turned on my drill press. The spade bit, ground on my belt sander, became a double-sided blade. The rest is a bit of Jarrah offcut and copper pipe.
Both are sharp and hard. I used them today to mark out the dovetails on a box.
Regards from Perth
Derek

They look great Derek!
I made a couple like the earlier ones you have made from spade bits (ie awl one side and marking knife on the other) but I like these much better, plus Im too uncoordinated I found I often stabbed myself with the awl when I was using the knife and vice versa.
well done once againYou can never have enough planes, that is why Mr Stanley invented the 1/2s
