    Default No mitre slot

I have an Elektra Beckum table saw. It doesn't have a mitre slot, it has a cylindrical bar which sits beside and slightly below the table. The mitre fence then attaches and slides up and down this pole. (no jokes about Bangkok bar girls)

The problem is there is a fair bit of bend in the arrangement, especially if there is a large or heavy piece of timber being cut.

Bottom line, does any know of a homemade solution for a mitre fence for a tablesaw with no mitre slot. I did a forum search but didn't see anything that matches.

    Cheers,

    Dan

I did a search for the saw and looked at about ten before I got bored. Do you have a model or a link so we can see the setup?

Al suggested a sled, and normally I'd agree, but I have no idea if their are protrusions that would stop you from using one. A straddle sled would be less efficient than a sled that rides in the slots.

Post a pic or link please.

Did a search on sleds. They all seem to have runners, inside a slot on the table top.

My sled for the Triton table has runners on the sides. Details of it's construction appeared in the Trion forum a year or more ago. Try searching there - and if you can't find it, let me know and I'll post some photos of mine.
If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.
