    Default Mobile Vertical wood rack

Sick of storing boards flat under my bench, and not being able to get the one I want without first moving all the other boards off the top, I decided I wanted a vertical rack like at the local wood shop. But not having a huge shop, I wanted to be able to move it around and out of the way. So I mounted it on a set of cheap nylon wheels from the $2 shop.

the whole contraption took me an hour to make from scrap wood.

Since I took the pic, I have found that the back of the unit (under the triangle) is a great place to store ply sheets and smaller offcuts etc. I have also extended the dowels to about 9" deep.

Now, under my workbench, I only store wood up to 80cm, end-out.

    It's all good!

bottom frame is 700 x 700 4x2s, just enough so I can push it against the wall and get a car in the garage if I want/need to. Height of the frame is 2m plus the wheels. The whole thing is vary stable, no inclination to tip, although it looks as if it would. The more timber you load onto it the more stable it gets.

Yes well spotted. I'm Count Basie's fourth cousin (muso) from the naughties. I make stuff and I buy stuff. Sometimes I play it.

Did you know that Tonto was originally created just so the Lone Ranger would have someone to talk to?
