Planing Board
I have a workbench that I don't want to drill holes in, so I made this jig out of an offcut from a solid core door. I have a couple of Veritas benchpups which are perfect for this job. While I made this primarily for planing, I can also use it for general clamping duties.
I started out by marking a 10 cm square grid over the offcut and then drawing in the lines to mark the centre if the squares, and then drilled all the 19mm holes. Not a hard job, just a little boring

Craig,
That is a good idea if you dont want to drill the bench top. I use a solid door on trestles as a portable worktop so it be be attacked with a drill soon.
A very nice WS rebate plane there. I have one and it is a very handy tool.
Regards
John

It is a good idea. What sort of bit did you use to drill the holes

Holes
I used a 19mm spade bit, similar to the ones in the attached picture.
Hope that helps explain it.
