Default quick and easy clamp racks

Just a couple of pictures of some clamp racks I knocked up.Can't claim credit for the design tho as they came out of australiam woodsmith #29.
I find they seem to work really well and didn't cost anything to make as its all offcuts.AW also has a plan for a mobile trolly to attach them to but I havn't got that far yet.

I think you've got a winner there. Normally you get a choice of well-made, fast or cheap - pick any two.

    These can be all three.

    cheers

Nice one Bruce: I guess there'll be a bit of copying happening at the Home of the Biting Midge shortly!! (Watch my "Playroom" thread in a few weeks once this one has been forgotten for when I claim they were my idea!!!)

Out of interest, here's how I rack my sash clamps. A bit of pine, a rebate and two bits taken out for each clamp, sort of like a custom made hook.

I just haven't been able to invent anything as simple for the G clamps yet!

    cheers,

    P

Very good. Any ideas for some Bessey clmaps? Don't tell anyone but I found this really good deal and are expecting delivery of some in a few weeks.
    Boring signature time again!

No idea yet but am going to have to do something as i also have some comming from a secret source shortly!!
Groggy has a neat solution for his quick grip clamps which may work on the bessy's or they could fit like the standard F- clamps but will probably need wider spacing.
Or you could just put them in a nice Glass cabinet and look at them!

    Default Groggy's rack...

As KiwiBrucee has dobbed in my little rack, here it is. It's scrap pine, a few screws and about 20 mins work, including the beeswax/turps/BLO finish. The clamps are Quick Grip type with a small pin in the shaft at rear.

Currently looking for ideas for Bessey storage (assuming I have a secret supply coming too) is a crystal display case over the top?

No questions please, I've shown you my 'rack' and you can see how they're hangin'....

    Default G-clamp mystery solved..

Hello and you clamp horters. While looking in the local hardware store I came acroww an ideal to store my "G" or "C" clamps as we call them. The store had them on a peg board with some hevy duty hooks. I wanded to keep all my clamps in one place or at least close to each other. I have a 3 foot wide and 8 foot tall aera inbetween my two roll up door The aera has no drywal and the insulation is all messed up I plan to put in new inslutaion and cove it with 1/4" or 1/2" ply wood. Here I place my new C-Clamp storage.

In the Pic you can see a board I made to hold the clamps and them mount to the new wall when finished. The top plate is at a 5 deg up ward angle to keep clamps from sliding off and has a 1/2" round over ont the edges. The bottom angel matches the top and is ther for support. These are 8" C-Clamps and are heavy. It is glues and screw together. When storing the clamp you need to have them open just enought to clear the support

I be posting more pic of my clamp wall whem finished in my "shed" post.

Thanks for all the pics, I must organise my shop one day like that. However I would want a cover plate on the sash clamp rack, the thought of one of those clamps coming off the rack and landing on something makes me tremble.

    Default Bessey K-body rack

Here's a little thing I made for all the K-bodies I hope to have in a little while.
I have piers in my brick wall in the garage, otherwise I'd have packed it out about 60mm from the wall....

There's a plausible explanation as to why I have a french-polished myrtle clamp rack, but I'm not telling.
