    Or signwriters.

Perhaps a bit soft for templates.

(I cut a sheet as a tailgate window protector for the Forester when towing a trailer on gravel roads; fitted with 2" super sticky velcro; stops ricochet stones from trashing the glass).
    Cheers, Ern

    Default That Sheet.

    Hi All,
Vern, is that the stuff with a very thin plastic on either side, & for want of a better word Polystyrene ? in the centre.
I only have a small amount, but would not be worth sending up to you.
I've been using it for covers for my Carving Knives.
    Regards,
    issatree.

Great minds think alike eh Ern! I made a protector for my boy's caravans front window out of the 6mm stuff and he reckons it worked great until some scumbag in Albury knocked it off

Not the same thing Lewis - this stuff is PVC all the way through - thanks for the gesture anyway!

Just an off cut of 50x50mm aluminium channel about 300mm long. Drilled the holes just oversize for each bit then cut the slots in with a 1mm cut-off blade in an angle grinder. Keyhole to hang it on the wall near the drill and it can be stood up or layed on the bench when needed
Reckon these would be a breeze to mass produce for somebody with a plasma CNC - cut them from flat sheet, 2 folds and you're done!
    Nice rack Vern
will reblicate somewhere around my shed

Like the morse tapper and extension where did you get the morse bit from?
    Ray
they are a part of the whole package (ie colt)
the forstners are designed to fit and lock into them
come over and have a play if you want

Might just do that Nick have 6 grinders to do 300+mm long when the fellow drops timber off for them all good Aussie HW.

Hi Vern, the local Art Supply had this stuff, which is as you describe in the middle, but each side is thin layer of cardboard. It drilled quite nicely (very high speed) using a brand new Colt Brad Point. I tried it with the top face covered (with MDF) and not. No apparent difference.

It's not the same, but nearly. $10 for a 6mm sheet that was probably 800x800mm (he gave me a scrap to test).

I'm mindful of rust on my shank ends with the wooden critter I made, so I think I'll Shellac it to seal it off.
