Default Portable table saw blade holder

Being tight on shop space and plans to move around I needed a way to safely store my table saw blades. So here it is! The chippers slot into the kerf left by a standard table saw blade. The blades are held in place by a large bolt & nut with wooden spacers to protect the teeth. Hope this helps anyone with a similar problem.

Great response to a cutting question!

Seriously though, the box looks it should last a lifetime while protecting the blades very well!

Nice prodejct. Like a true woodie

Spending more time making stuff for the shop, and not the house.

I just use the orange plastic holder my blaes came in.

What is making the lighter edge color in the matrial? what is it made of, and maybe a closer pic of the joints??

    Thanks for the positive comments!

Yeah I enjoy making the projects for the shop - no one but myself to consult on the requirements & design!

Its just 1/2 mdf, and all the joinery is from the dado stack (rabbets etc.). Not sure why the edges appear lighter - I did coat it with some polyurethane. Do you like it, if so then it was intentional

    Cheers,

    Arian

A truly luxurious resting place for your blades. How did you do the contrasting edges?

Also: how do you keep your table saw surface so shiny?
Those are my principles, and if you don't like them . . . well, I have others.

Oh and AA nice blade storage box, do you find the blade holding method a PITA if swaping about blades several times a day?
Mine just has a single slot for every blade, holds 4 blades and has no lid(changing blades to much), dado set has its own box it come in(freud dail'a).

What a great site (because of the people) - where else could I find people actually interested in the storage box I made for my tablesaw blades!

The design certainly isn't as convenient as the one you describe. I'll likely keep the blades I use most often at the top (ripping & combo blades).

Unfortuanately for me the time it takes to extract the dado blades from the box is insignificant to the time it takes me to get the exact width I desire (add this shim, remove another - growl!).

Oh, as for the shinny table saw top - I polish & buff it daily - doesn't everyone???

    Cheers,

    Arian
