I saw a good idea in Shopnotes magazine that uses 3/4" PVC tube to hold pipe clamps. The idea was, for each pipe, to cut 2 x 30mm length of PVC tube and then cut out about 1/3 of the length of the tube to act as a snapp-type grip on the pipe. You could then screw the grip onto a fixture depending on where you want to store the clamps (wall, roof, clamp rack, etc) .

That sounds like it work work OK.

I liked the look of one that used 200 x 200mm triangle pieces of ply fixed to the wall about 25mm apart.
You could hang about 4 pipe clamps on each pair of triangles.

The best I have seen was a frame with a top rail about 100mm from the wall and a lower rail a bit closer to the wall.

You put the clamps up in front of the lower rail and behind the top rail. The clap face slips over the top rail.

I doubt if I have explained it very clearly but it was neat and looked like it would work.

I might have to try a couple of different ideas.


FWW had a table with a stack of PVC pipes arranged underneath it. It seemed a lotof work and I don't have room for another large table.

Love your ideal. When I when to get some more blades for my Bandsaw at the Grizzly Ind. Show Room I saw one of these. I asked a sale person and he said it was not for sale. He did say he has to tell know to people about 3 taimes a weak. Even my local HarborFriehgt tools store has a rack like this and it is not for sale. Looks like it would be easy to make if I could weld For show of the product the clamps are on the front. But small ones can go on back and large ones of front. The Rods are long metal dowls with treades on one ends with a Nut and the other end has a hole and diper pin ( cleves pin clip ) holding them in place They and can be moved for different location. And it can fold when not in use.

The link did not work but a started searching and found it a few other places. One Pic showed the clamps head peice on the front and the bar sticking through to the back side. This allowed 3 time a many clamps to fit on this rack, then pictured above.

It does look pretty neat.

The square base I think is better than my rectangular base. It takes up less room and would be more convenient to move around the shed.

I can't see why you couldn't make it out of timber.

Say 3x1 frame and 1" dowels.

I doubt if you would ever need to fold it up but it could be useful if you were moving house.

Norm made his out of boards instead of ply sheets. He had several thick dowels poking out of the sides to hold spring clamps. I think that would be a pain as you could easily bump into them. I might add a few inside the rack as I don't have enough bar clamps to cover all the rack yet.

I made a rack for the pipe clamps. It is basically 2 parrallel rails

Ya I think I try a small some out wood for temp storage. I have so many odd size clamps it is hard to find a place for them. Small corner clamps, spring hand hend clamps, Spool clamps, small bar clamps and so many moore. the little ones I place in canvas tool bags and just place on the shelf.


On your how much room do you have inbetween the bottom part and that brace that runs acorss it. Can you make a few flat boxes what can slid under that brace to hold C-clamps. you can put a rope handle on them and just pull them out and take them over to your work aera.
