    Default Shop-Built Tablesaw

    Hi Orraloon!

You may want to visit http://gilliom-gil-bilt-tool-hunter.blogspot.com/. There's a nice pic of an 18" Gilliom Bandsaw and lots of info on the Gilliom story and other issues.

    Hi Folks,

There are some awesome pics of these shop built machines, I wonder if we can get Gilliom to send us a PDF of their catalogue and post it here. I certainly would be interested, curious more so.

    Cheers

    Hi Waynea,

Sorry to dissappoint you but Gilliom is not in Internet and I don't think they have a PDF at all. I do have some brochures and outdated price lists. My suggestion is that you write them for info, prices, etc. and have them scanned and posted.

If you don't mind the outdated prices, let me know, I'll scan the material and post it myself.

I'm glad I saw this thread, helped me with the design of my next table saw!

I built one a few years back based on a second hand 8" circular saw, it works well enough considering the dollars spent, but it's time to get serious I think. Can anyone assist me with local supply of the arbor shaft assembly, or power head? Motors I can find easily enough, my cousin works for ABB, and steel work/welding isn't a problem. I just need to find this one part!

I'd appreciate any help anyone can provide. Thanks in advance folks.

    Dave.

Try Gilliom, they're still in business AFAIK but NOT in Internet. Must use snail mail or the phone. Their arbor is quite good. Mine has be in use for 13 years without mishap. See my previous posts for Gilliom data. Post again if you need any help.

Thanks Hector, I'd like to try to source this locally if I can.

I've been in touch with a crowd in Melbourne who repair industrial WW machines, they reckon they might be able to help me. If it happens that they can I'll post the details here for anyone else who might be interested.
