    Default Tall featherboard

    For my first post here I thought you might like to see my featherboard ive made for my Elektra Beckum ts250. I adapted the mitre fence that came with the saw by fitting an offcut of mdf replacing the fence. The mdf has slots cut in one end to form the fingers and a coach bolt thru a slot in the mdf to allow the board to be adjusted up to the material being pushed thru the saw. I have also drilled and tapped a hole in the t-bar of the fence for a thumb screw so that the fence locks in the slot. All comments welcome.

    That looks very neat. How about the degree of flex in the feathers? what sort of life span would you reckon it has? (Hmm, treated pine? "Hope you are using breathing gear", he nagged).

    I will swap you saw benches that one looks pretty swish. I havent seen one with a locking screw on the mitre fence before, that should make your idea very workable.

    Thanks, the life span of the fingers doesnt really matter as I can make another in a few minutes and they do have a bit of flex in them. I will probably make a flat horizontal version as well for when im not running tall vertical material thru the saw. I bought the ts250 a year ago and it is a very well made accurate saw for a small portable one. I noticed after I bought it they changed the brand name over to Metabo if anyone wants to look it up on the net. Ive added a pic of the mitre fence in its original state.
