SCRAP IT,
Well after a rather long intermission due too life getting clumsily in the way, apologies, we’re back on the Table with the fancy 1978 table cloth, that is due for a clean, sketchbook an drawing aides, at the ready, with a lovely cup of warm tea.
Yep I’m starting again, I just wasn’t [emoji817] percent happy with the design, I was having issues with the whole lever cap thingy, it took me ages just too figure it all out, even know it’s a simple concept, so I’m starting again, an I’m just going with a nice simple wedge this time, I’m fully embracing the KISS theory this time, well at least for securing the blade in place.
An I can focus on some other aspects that I would like too have a go at, I keep them a secret for now tho, as I need to practice one first, before I go off being a big mouth.
Any way concept drawing, still a work in progress an im welcoming any suggestions.

Cheers Matt.
At least you never progressed to cutting metal before changing your mind!I’m a fan of the more rounded back end of the wedge; a quick Google Images search for Infill Shoulder Plane turned up several really nice examples… Unfortunately for some reason I have lost the box with all the “link” and “picture” icons so I can’t post a few pics… hopefully it’s a minor glitch that will be resolved quickly.
Issue has now been fixed; so here are some pics of planes that I like the look of. Not everybody’s warm beverage of choice of course.

I would just try to find something I really like the look of and copy it onto a pine plank to see how the shape feels in the hand. It can be scaled up or down and bits cut off/glued back on until it feels “right”.
