Triton Router Table Box Joint Jig
I found this plan for a router table box joint jig. I have always wanted to get a Leigh D4R Dovetail Jig but I saw this and thought it was a good first inexpensive step towards the Leigh jig (even though it only cuts box joints). So I had a crack at adapting it for my Triton Router table (see attached pics).
The only change I made (that was necessary) was to bolt it to the sliding table insert on the triton router table rather than using a mitre track. To overcome any racking/twisting in use I also installed a wooden guide on the side of the table and used a spare circular saw fence to provide the support. In hindsight this was probably not needed.
The link to the article explains how it operates but many of you have probably already seen a similar design. The attached pic shows the results (and also shows evidence that I need to buy a jointer - warped boards).

I just realised that you need to be a member to view the article. The following is the description that accompanies the demonstration video:
How it works
The heart of this jig is a fully-adjustable fence with two index pins that move side to side to accommodate box joints of any size. The width of the socket and pin is determined by the diameter of the router bit.
The plan is also attached if you are interested.

I'm a little confused as to how it works. Don't suppose you could post pictures of it in operation?

Turns out it is needed as the second joint I made did not fit (even though the settings were exactly the same) and this was due to the plastic feet that the sliding table insert is guided by on the the triton router table coming loose and allowing some sideways movement.
I have since improved the fence (which was not tight enough to prevent the movement by itself) by installing some spring washers between the metal circular saw fence and the wooden extension attached to it so that when the jig is bolted to the table the fence is hard up against the guide attached to the table preventing any lateral movement when making a cut.

Be quick though as it expires on 13.5.09.
I tried posting it permanently in this forum but for some reason it will not work even though it meets file size and dimension requirements.
