a wet day special( bench drill stand)
a change of topic hopefully in the right section. ive had a bench drill with out a stand for years ,time to get it off the floor .Had a few bits of slotted angle( dexion) in the scrap heap so heres how i did it .
first cut all the lengths starting on the little diamond index point marked on one side some where ( too small for my camera to take a pic of )
uprights all 600 mm or where the diamond fits closest both ends
front widths top300
bottom 460
side top 460
bottom 520
bolt them together loosely ( you can change lengths as long as you stick to the diamond index mark) some of the horizontal s may have to go under the top rail to make fit .sit on a flat surface and you can move it around so that it sits square . You will see the back side -on is slightly leaning in more than the front. tighten bolts then i welded all the joins on the inside then remove bolts .This is just a basic idea. it can be covered in and shelves added as required. it is quite stable as is but weights can be added in the bottom if yuo think its neccessary.

Nice work.
I have an old drill press about the same size and I've been wondering what to put it on.
Gaz.
