Very excited Woodies!
It's only temporary, but the Richmond Valley Woodcrafters finally has a Workshop!
The group was set up 2 years ago with the aim of building a workshop for use by people who don't have a workshop at home and to teach others, particularly people with disabilities, woodworking skills.
The House With No Steps at Alstonville offered a site for the workshop. Last Sunday, the temporary workshop, an old dairy in the grounds of the Houise With No Steps, was officially opened.
The members of the group have restored the building, and a large quantity of woodworking machinery, mostly donated, has been installed, as well as donated airconditioning units.
We are still pushing towards funding for our permanent workshop, but now there is proof that it can be achieved!
For more information on the group, contact Les Roberts on 66864214.

Richmond Valley woodies
Congratulations on your 'new' premises. I grow, mill and sell Paulownia. I am also interesed in generally promoting this species of timber. I live at Tyalgum 25 klms NW of Murwillumbah and would be prepared to vist your Group and bring same samples of Paulownia for members to try out. I could answer some questions (I'm no expert) about Paulownia if needed. If your interested reply or PM me and I'll phone and make some mutually acceptable day/time.

Hi, John, thanks for the comments, and I will pass your information on to the Commitee; I'm sure there will be interest in getting together.
Meantime, all the best, cheers, Raul
