After a brisk start to the day 14C this morning wind chill of the mountians or was it Victoria, we headed down to Kiama.

By the time we got there the morning had warmed up and first port of call was to Boutique Timbers to sus out th great wood and meet up with Greg and Mal.

Found what I was after put aside and headed into the hall.

Another great display by Kiama Woodies of their works, the One square Foot competion entrants hard to decide upon.

CNC set up working well, as was John's Tools and wares, Jim Davey in plane sight as well as AllWood Timbers from Nowra.

By mid afternoon a hole had been made in Boutique Timbers wood and when Pat arrived a bigger hole...........I believe he was ringing Wong and Christos for ideas on how to get so much wood into small vehicle.

We had a pleasnt walk along the water front to the Harbour for Fish n Chips and joined the other fellows from the OTGA who broke with traition and drove down as track work was on. The markets were and interesting diversion where I picked up an old wooden square for $3.

    Photos later.

Home, spoils pack away for a moth or so of acclimatising. Blessed Brush Box is nearly as heavy as Spotty in 4" square lenghts.

A little bit of Huon followed me home . . . with his mate a little mango slab. Both destined to being spun at speed on the Yellow Peril

Thanks to Greg for getting rid of some of the detritus from today's sale. If you are after good timber and feel like a day out in Kiama, do yourself a favour, wander down and bring you cunning kicks. Mine is in the red for the rest of the month

    G'day
Just came upon this post . Glad you had a good time at Kiama . As you know, I was not there because Turnfest was on at the same time, but I did have an entry in the super foot competition . Mine was the funny looking wing bowl .The winner this year was the yacht . Our usual winner did not get his entry finished in time so someone else got a look in . Just as well as his potential entry was a working model of a huge earth moveing machine and is comparable with his buldozer which was featured on the cover of Australian Woodworker No.159 . Hopefully it will make it onto the Kiama Woodcraft site eventually.
    Ted
