Yes - I also received one - it was introducing new members - don't think it had a virus and if it did - I hope the virus checker picked it up!!

I got one, introducing new members.
I deleted it without opening the link.
It only takes one drink to get me loaded. Trouble is, I can't remember if it's the thirteenth or fourteenth.

What the ?
Are you serious ? What the *&&^& do you mean?
Mate this is a woodworking forum, if you haven't got any interest in it, then perhaps you'd better leave. What an odd ball way to start. If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.

I for one don't like junk emails - I would say that this one would be classed as one - isn't there now a law about unsolicited emails?
I am on this forum and do not want to belong to another.
I think others will think the same.
Come clean and explain yourself.
Please don't send me one again.

Me three.
FWIW, there was no virus attached. I performed a 3 level deep heuristic search of the site and it came out with a clean bill of health. If someone found one, I suggest they look further and locate the original source (probably their ISP or own system) before they run into more trouble. The links in the email are just that: simple http links.
It's a new board. In a way we should be all flattered, as he's seen fit to model his forums after this board. Which indicates the success of this board. As does the fact that he's trolling for members from here.
I belong to several others, although for some perverse reason this 'un feels more like home and I tend to gravitate back here. But, by the same token, I don't believe that this board is the end-all and be-all of forums. His board is in it's infancy and now is the time for it's members to determine what direction it's heading. After all, it's the members tha have the final say... the only real power an admin has is SWISH.
Personally, I've registered on his board. Not so much 'cos I think I can learn anything (although I believe can help as much on that board as I do here! For what little that's worth, admittedly, but... [shrug]) but more 'cos I do not want yet another clone of what we have here.
I've left a couple of boards because of such "redundancy," and so long as I can post on his board I'll do my best to steer it into a direction which compliments this board instead of mimicking it.
I'd honestly like to see more woodie related boards, so long as they're not clones of each other. I'd also like to see x-linking between boards although I doubt such co-operation of diverse "base" interests will ever happen.
I'm only one bloke, but at least I'm trying to put my voice where it may count, instead of going "Bah Humbug" and throwing reddies around. As though that's going to make any difference!
[#####! Just put my foot thru the soapbox. Anyone got a jimmie bar I can borrow?]
