    Good Evening Friends,
when using a block plane or Jack plane and the slices are wanting to come out in chunks rather than thin sliced curls, what is happening?

Sounds like my cheese slicer Ralph.
Blade too deep. Mouth too wide (the mother-in-law problem). Wrong direction for the grain.

    Default Woodworking Quiz Answer

    Good Morning Friends,
Robert WA, you are correct in your answer and one more thing that could be going wrong is that you have reached an area of wood where the grain runs in different directions.

    Thank you for your support.

    Respectfully,
