Thanks for the heads-up. I picked one up yesterday. When I rang Festool on Wed there were 4 left. I nabbed one of those. I haven't used it yet, but it certainly looks and feels the business. Brushless motor, 4 speed selections, electronic torque limiting and 2 batteries in a Systainer. All for $249! I reckon the 1.5Ah battery capacity is a bit lame, but maybe the more efficient brushless motor offsets that somewhat?

The drill is made in the Czech Republic, the charger in Germany. Batteries aren't marked.

Simply ring Festool on the 1300 number. Both the Hammer and non hammer are the same price but as I had the non Hammer version I did not check their stock levels on that.

I bought the same kit and for that price we really don't get to complain about battery capacity. We've basically bought the drill and they've thrown in two batteries and a charger for free.

Indeed, and the lighter weight of the 1.5Ah can be a bonus, as can the smaller size for some tasks.

I was astonished it was lighter than my Festool C12!

I now have what I believe to be the very last PDC 18-4 hammer drill purchased here in Aus if I can believe Tooltecnic.
Purchased on behalf of my son.

You might be right. I called my Festool dealer this morning and just by chance he had the Festool rep in the store. He confirmed that they were still in stock so I ordered two .... I'm not sure if this was lodged with the head office or not but the head office called later in the day regarding an email I sent over the weekend. I was told there were no more left ...... Fingers crossed the rep placed the order before they sold out

Yeah I saw that .... if however you click on the link below "Have a question about this product" to the right it opens up a new window with "limited stock".
If you do the same thing with the DRC18 page it says "In Stock".

I did try calling the 1300 number this morning but was told I needed to speak with my local Festool dealer to place an order (which seems at odds with some of the other posts). The Festool rep who was at my local dealer at 8:30am this morning when I called said both models were in stock, however when Festool contacted me at about 1:00pm they said that the PDC18 had sold out but they still had stock of the DRC18.

Best case scenario the rep may have instantly put a hold on the PDC18 securing at least one for me (and hopefully not waited until after lunch to call the order through ) ..... next best I get my hands on a couple of the DRC18 models. I'm not overly fussed if I miss out on the PDC18 as I have an SDS drill that is better suited anyway. Worst case scenario is that I missed out on everything which would be a real shame .

I wonder why, they even rang me back to confirm I had ordered the correct drill as I mentioned I had bought one earlier in the year when the campaign first started.

Not sure why Chris. She initially directed me to order on line. When I mentioned it was a run out special on Protool and it didn't give me the option order then she asked if I had a trade account. As this was a negative I was then directed to my local dealer.

I only have myself to blame if I do miss out. I did read the initial thread earlier in the year and didn't look into it too much. It was only late last week that I decided I could do with a new drill - obviously at the tail end of the stock levels.

When I rang them, I was also directed to my local dealer who then did an immediate order as I was told that they only had 1 left in stock. This was after Chris put the info in this thread. I wanted 2 drills but could only get 1 and this is why I thought they were sold out. Having said that, when I rang them the person did not even know about the drill and initially said it was the skin only. It is only when I relayed the info from Chris (thank you Chris) that she found the last one in stock .
